Dad! I won’t go to school anymore
Since the ages
history of the dead days is being taught there

like rusty parts of machines
the formulae of mathematics have become so old
to live only on the pages of history that I don’t wish
outrunning it, I need to live in the days ahead

becoming something more than history

so dad! I will never attend school anymore
down the long dead gone days
the ancient history of long dead gone days
is being taught there

rather than wall-hung, frame-adorned ideals,
I prefer the ideals that can be a lifestyle

instead of traveling on the highway,
I would like to pave the path while walking on it
my arms need no volume of history but a hoe
all the high peaks, not just on the plans and maps
must I measure on my feet,

Translation- Himal khadka

I have a debt to repay to the earth

Dad! I am not returning to school anymore
Since the ages
because the history of the dead days is being taught there.
