Call me: Down,

Down, a Dalit,

Down of caste system,

A living history

Of exploitation,

Of social exclusion,

Look at me:

I m a five letter discourse

A  D-A-L-I-T,

Symbol of injustice.

Give me:

Sewer, cobbler, wage worker,

As proletariat identities.

Exclude me:

From history, from justice, from state.

Bring me:

Bruise, tear, death, and slaughter

But remember:

I’m down, a root,

I will rise as a Phoenix, awaking with a new revolution.
